About Control Solutions & Pipework Services
Established in 2000 we are a business working primarily in the food industry. You will be carrying out installation, repairs and modifications to pipework and process equipment. We also offer turnkey solutions incorporating electrical, mechanical and automation works.
What do I need to know?
Due to expansion, we are recruiting for a Fabricator / Tig Welder to work on Hygienic pipework and structural frameworks / platforms at sites both locally and around the UK.
Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the site and workshop supervisors or dedicated charge hands you will be working to tight deadlines installing new processing equipment or making modifications to existing systems.
Procurement of materials from our approved suppliers as necessary.
Desirable skills
Experience of working in food production environments.
Hygienic TIG and stainless steel MIG welding.
Working to approved welding procedures in accordance to ISO 9606-1.
Measuring, cutting and fitting of stainless steel and mild steel pipework.
Use of workshop equipment including guillotine, pressbrake, bandsaw, powered rolls and lathe.
Understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and fabrication of pipework following drawings.
Using 2 and 3D drawings to fabricate and weld to close tolerances.
Experience in fabrication of structural platforms to BS EN1090-2.
What we can offer
A salary of up to £17.50 per hour depending on experience, weekday overtime paid at 1.25x, Saturday 1.5x, Sunday 2x. Lots of opportunity for overtime especially during site works.
Travel and accommodation paid and overnight allowance when working away from home.
25 days holiday + Bank Holidays.
Working hours 08:00 to 16:00 Monday to Friday. 37.5 hr week. 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

Apprenticeship- Level 3 Engineering Fitter
Apprentice Welder Pipefitter
An oppourtunity to train and become a welder pipefitter with a recongised qualification. Following completion you will be carrying out installation, repairs and modifications to pipework and process equipment.
What do I need to know
You will be completing a 42 month level 3 apprenticeship as an engineering fitter, with the first years training occuring off site at Gloucestershire Engineering Training. Following that you will be continuing your learning alongside an experienced member of the team, working on site and in the workshop located in Stonehouse.
What we offer
£14,000 per annum during training.
40hrs a week, Monday to Friday during training.

-How to safely work in food and other industrial environments.

Following on from your first year in college, you will be continuing your learning alongside an experienced member of the team, working on site and in the workshop located in Stonehouse. During this time you will be expected to contribute in the workplace and complete your two qualifications.

Qualifications
5 GCSE's or equivalent at grades 9-4, which must include Maths, English and ideally a Science.

Due to expansion, we are recruiting for a site works chargehand to assist with leading and managing welding and pipefitting jobs on site. This role suits either an existing chargehand/supervisor or experienced TIG welder pipefitter wishing to progress into a supervisory position.
Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the site and workshop supervisors, leading a team in our workshop or on site throughout the UK to carry out installation and repair of hygienic stainless steel pipework.
Procurement of materials from approved suppliers as necessary.
Liaising with customer representatives to progress works and feedback progress.
Desirable skills
Experience of working in food production environments.
Hygienic TIG and stainless steel MIG welding.
Working to approved welding procedures.
Measuring, cutting and fitting of stainless steel and mild steel pipework.
